Overview
◾ Celestia is a modular blockchain network focused on data availability, helping developers build and operate their own blockchains without needing to manage every component of the system independently. Its data-availability layer allows blockchain applications and rollups to publish transaction data for verification and retrieval. Celestia uses techniques such as data availability sampling to help light nodes verify that block data has been published without downloading the entire dataset. The TIA token is used for network fees, staking, and governance-related functions. The project's Fibre initiative is designed to expand data throughput for applications with demanding data requirements. ◾ Celestia (TIA) is the native token of Celestia, a modular blockchain network designed to provide data availability infrastructure for rollups and other blockchain applications. Instead of requiring every blockchain to handle execution, consensus, and data availability within one integrated system, Celestia focuses on making transaction data available for independent verification. ◾ The network uses data availability sampling, enabling light nodes to check whether block data has been published without downloading the entire block. This approach supports a modular architecture in which developers can build application-specific blockchains while relying on Celestia for data availability. ◾ TIA has several established roles within the ecosystem, including paying for blobspace, staking to help secure the proof-of-stake network, and participating in network governance according to applicable protocol rules. ◾ Celestia is also developing Fibre, a high-throughput data-availability protocol intended to support applications with substantial data demands. On October 1, 2026, the project reported a 3.07 Tb/s end-to-end benchmark. This was a benchmark result, not confirmation that the same capacity is already available on mainnet. ◾ The broader objective is to make it easier for developers to build scalable, specialized blockchains without having to create an entire data-availability system from scratch. Actual adoption, network performance, token demand, and future releases remain important factors to monitor.
