Overview
◾ GMX is a decentralized exchange protocol that supports spot swaps and perpetual futures trading through blockchain-based liquidity pools. Its platform operates across supported networks, including Arbitrum, Avalanche, and other deployed ecosystems. Traders can access supported crypto markets directly through compatible wallets, while liquidity providers deposit assets into GM and GMX Liquidity Vault (GLV) pools that facilitate trading. The GMX token serves governance and ecosystem functions, including staking-related mechanisms described in the protocol documentation. GMX combines smart contracts, oracle-based pricing, and pooled liquidity to provide onchain trading infrastructure without relying on a conventional centralized exchange order book. ◾ GMX is the native utility and governance token associated with the GMX decentralized trading protocol. The platform facilitates spot swaps and perpetual futures through smart contracts and liquidity pools, with supported markets and features varying by network and protocol version. ◾ GMX uses GM pools to provide liquidity for individual markets and GLV vaults to manage liquidity across supported markets. Oracle-based pricing helps determine execution prices and position outcomes. The protocol's documentation identifies Chainlink oracle infrastructure among the pricing components used in its markets. ◾ The GMX token has governance utility, and the protocol documents staking and fee-related tokenomics mechanisms. However, the availability and distribution of rewards can change; token holders should check current official documentation rather than assume a particular payout is active. ◾ GMX's ecosystem has expanded through additional market integrations and development tools. On October 6, 2026, the project's SDK changelog recorded USDG market support on Arbitrum and functionality for USDC/USDG conversion. These are documented developments, not evidence that GMX's token price must rise. ◾ GMX remains exposed to smart-contract risk, liquidity conditions, market volatility, oracle dependencies, and the risks associated with leveraged trading. Supported networks, markets, and features may evolve as the protocol is updated.
