Category: Blockchains

Overview

◾MegaETH is an Ethereum Layer 2 network designed for high-performance, low-latency blockchain applications. The project describes its architecture as a real-time blockchain capable of more than 100,000 transactions per second and sub-10-millisecond block times, while settling on Ethereum. MegaETH uses a specialized execution architecture intended to support fast onchain applications and real-time state updates. MEGA is the network's native token and is connected to its economic system, including token commitments and performance-based rewards. The ecosystem also includes applications and infrastructure built around MegaETH's high-throughput environment. ◾MegaETH is an Ethereum Layer 2 focused on making blockchain applications operate with performance closer to real-time web applications. Its architecture uses specialized components for different network functions rather than requiring every node to perform the same workload. MegaETH states that its network targets more than 100,000 transactions per second, more than 10 GGAS per second and sub-10-millisecond block times, with settlement on Ethereum. ◾MEGA is the native token of the MegaETH ecosystem. According to the project's official token announcement, MEGA is connected to the network's economic engine, while more than half of the total supply is reserved for KPI-based distributions tied to future measurable milestones. The project also describes mechanisms involving token commitments, proximity infrastructure and future sequencer participation. Established ecosystem products include MOSS, which launched in June 2026, and applications operating on the MegaETH mainnet.
