Overview

◾ Sonic (S) is a Layer 1 blockchain designed to support decentralized applications and smart contracts compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). Its ecosystem targets decentralized finance (DeFi), on-chain trading, and other blockchain-based services. The network includes developer-focused infrastructure and a Fee Monetization (FeeM) program intended to let eligible applications earn a share of the transaction fees they generate. The S token is the network's native asset and is associated with its blockchain economy. Sonic aims to attract developers and users through performance-focused infrastructure, although adoption, network activity, and token demand remain subject to market conditions. ◾ Sonic is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain built to support smart contracts and decentralized applications. EVM compatibility enables developers to work with familiar Ethereum development tools and adapt compatible applications for the Sonic ecosystem. ◾ The network focuses on performance, application development, and incentives for builders. Its Fee Monetization program, known as FeeM, is designed to reward eligible developers with a share of the transaction fees generated by their applications. This model seeks to connect application usage with developer revenue. ◾ Sonic's ecosystem includes opportunities for decentralized finance, token exchanges, and other on-chain services. The Sonic Gateway is part of its infrastructure for connectivity with Ethereum. These features form the basis of the project's broader blockchain ecosystem, although the availability and adoption of individual applications can vary. ◾ S is the network's native token. Its market price can respond to overall cryptocurrency sentiment, liquidity, trading activity, ecosystem developments, and changing demand. A rise in token price does not by itself demonstrate increased network usage or sustainable ecosystem growth. ◾ Sonic's published performance and infrastructure claims should be distinguished from independently verified, real-world usage. Future integrations, planned features, and ecosystem expansion should be treated as prospective until confirmed as operational.
